Privacy policy
Last updated: February 2026
The short version: QuoteDrop doesn't collect your personal data. We don't track you, we don't sell anything, and we don't require an account. You read quotes — that's it.
Who we are
QuoteDrop is operated by Built on Purpose, LLC. When this policy says "we," "us," or "our," that's who we mean.
What QuoteDrop does
QuoteDrop is a curated collection of quotes available through an iOS app, a Slack app, and a website at quotedrop.io. The apps let you browse, save, and share quotes.
What we collect
We've designed QuoteDrop to work without collecting personal information. Here's what each platform involves:
iOS app
- No account required. You don't sign up, log in, or provide any personal information to use the app.
- Favorites are stored on your device only. We never see what you save.
- Notification preferences stay on your device. Daily quote notifications are scheduled locally — no data is sent to our servers.
- Network requests. The app makes requests to our quotes API to fetch quotes. These requests don't include any personally identifiable information. Standard server logs may temporarily record IP addresses, as is typical for any web request, but we don't use these to identify or track individual users.
- No third-party analytics or tracking SDKs. We don't embed any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking frameworks in the app. We do use Apple's built-in App Store Connect analytics, which provides us with aggregate data like install counts, session counts, and crash reports. This is managed entirely by Apple and doesn't involve any additional data collection by us. You can opt out of sharing this data with developers in your iPhone's Settings under Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements.
Slack app
- Workspace information. When you install QuoteDrop to a Slack workspace, Slack provides us with a workspace ID and access token so the app can respond to commands. We store these solely to make the app function.
- No message reading. QuoteDrop only responds to its own slash commands. It does not read, store, or process any messages in your workspace.
- No user profiles. We don't collect names, email addresses, or other personal information about individual Slack users.
Website (quotedrop.io)
- No cookies. The marketing site doesn't set any cookies.
- Privacy-friendly analytics. We use Fathom Analytics to understand how many people visit the site and which pages they view. Fathom doesn't use cookies, doesn't collect personal data, and doesn't track you across sites. All data is aggregate. See Fathom's compliance page for details.
- No tracking pixels or ad-related tools. We don't use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or similar services.
What we don't do
- We don't sell, share, or rent your data to anyone
- We don't serve advertising
- We don't build user profiles or track individuals
- We don't use cookies, fingerprinting, or cross-site tracking
- We don't collect data for marketing purposes
Third-party services
QuoteDrop relies on a small number of third-party services to function:
- Apple (iOS app distribution). The app is distributed through the App Store. Apple's own privacy practices apply to the App Store itself. See Apple's privacy policy.
- Slack (Slack app platform). The Slack app runs on Slack's platform. Slack's own policies govern how they handle workspace data. See Slack's privacy policy.
Children's privacy
QuoteDrop is not directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect information from children. Because we don't collect personal information from anyone, there is no age-specific data to manage.
Changes to this policy
If we make meaningful changes to this policy, we'll update the "last updated" date at the top. Since QuoteDrop doesn't collect personal data, significant changes are unlikely, but we'll keep this page current.
